The legendary JFK Half Dollar has been one of America's most popular coins since it's introduction in 1964 and is still minted today. The collectible coin features Kennedy's portrait by Gilroy Roberts (GR) on the obverse and the Presidential Seal by Frank Gasparro on the reverse, with compositions changing from 90% silver (1964) to 40% silver (1965-1970) and then copper-nickel clad after 1970. Unlike other Kennedy circulation coins, the 1987 Kennedy Half Dollars issued by the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints were never released into circulation and were only placed into United States Mint Uncirculated sets or proof sets, making them appealing to collector's. This uncirculated 1987 JFK Half Dollar comes in a protective acrylic capsule with a display box and certificate of authenticity.
