Up for sale is a Jefferson Nickel World War 2 War Time Silver Nickel Set 1942-1945 Brilliant Uncirculated. As nickel became a critical war time metal, alternatives were explored to take its place in five cent coinage. The solution was to use silver instead of nickel. Each wartime nickel in this set contains 35% silver. The set contains 11 silver nickels minted in either Philadelphia, Denver or San Francisco. Each nickel is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
